At a recent team Summit in Washington, D.C. I shared the below core values with the Sincere team. Several people have asked to have the list. I realized that these core values would be helpful for recruiting too, so I decided to share them on this blog.
These core values didn’t take long to write, and there have been only one revision since I first shared them with my team in May of 2023. This is what I believe and we do our best to live these values everyday. I hope these core values serve as a helpful reminder for current employees, key stakeholders, and anyone who cares about the Company.
We are HUMANS with families. We value work, but we prioritize our families and children more than work.
We are COMMUNICATORS. We value written and verbal communication more than other Companies.
We are DETAIL-ORIENTED. We care about all of the details, we want things to be GREAT. We don’t settle for typos or avoidable errors.
We are EXECUTORS. We know that real Companies ship. We don’t let “perfect” be the enemy of getting things done.
We are EMOTIONAL. We see crying as a super-power and we value people who have passion and conviction about their beliefs.
We are FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE. We try to treat the Company’s money as if it were our own. We spend within our means. And we try to make decisions with the long-term health of the Company in mind.
We are SOCIALLY LIBERAL. We believe that all people have a seat at the table and we celebrate our differences as humans. We believe in gay marriage, trans rights, and the right for women to choose what they do with their own bodies.
We are COMMUNITY oriented and believe that we have a responsibility to give back to our local community. Our Foundation is an important part of our overall work.
We are GENEROUS with our Employees to the best of our ability, and we do the very best we can to make this the best job you have ever had. And we will continue to do our best.
We are FRIENDS. We value the social connections we make at work, and many of us are close friends.
We are SINCERE. We mean what we say. We try to always do what we say we’re going to do. We act in ways that are truly what we believe. We strive to do the right thing.
